DataTable - Unique Identifiers on the first column

In the design system site, I seem to recall a time when we had guidance on unique identifiers but no longer living there....? The India Team has had questions on when they should be used vs. when they shouldn't since they are no different from our default button styling. There's also been confusions on whether that unique identifier means that the row is selectable....

Here's what we have in Figma: "Each DataTable row should contain a unique identifier that should be visually distinguished by applying bold text. "
