Guidance on disabled items

Maggie and I connected on some guidance she was seeking for disabled items. We started questioning whether we should even show them if they're not available. This would apply for radio button group, checkbox group, toggles, etc..

Here's an example she provided where the user needs to select 6 columns to view on their table. However, the Time Column needs to always be displayed, therefore it is not uncheckable and has been made disabled to not allow the user from selecting.

We need to gather examples, use cases and provide guidance on how disabled states should be used.
