You dan influence the sync with enabling/disabling the WiFi. Just put out WiFi, will save your battery as well (even without KoboCloud).

@isaacgr see the above workaround I posted. I use Calibre to create the kepub format, and give it the extension '.epub', then the covers are displayed fine.

Would there be a way to get the file listing with CURL? If someone can help out with that, it might be feasable.

After installation on the device there is a config_kobo.sh file that sets the lib folder. So you might verify the path or change it to a different path in there.
