Timeouts in v2.0 (regression)
Version
2.0.0 (regression from 1.1.1)
Hardware
Macbook Pro 16-inch, 2021, Apple M1 Max macOS Ventura 13.6
Google Pixel 6 Android 13
Reproduction
- Use Nearby Share on Google Files
- Successfully discover macOS device
- Attempt to share mp4 video from Photos via Nearby Share
- NearDrop does not receive the file or notification
- Android device will show a timeout error after ~20 seconds
I then attempted again with v1.1.1 and could not reproduce the issue
Experiencing the same behavior in 2.0.1 as well M2 Pro, Sonoma 14.0 When sharing from both Pixel 7 (Android 14 Beta QPR1) and Galaxy Tab S7+ (13)
Same issue here, previously it worked smooth like butter. But later on, I'm facing issues while sending any file to my MacBook Air 2020 from my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE.
While tapping onto the nearby share option in my phone, it easily detects my MacBook but my MacBook isn't getting any notification regarding the file transfer... so it's showing "Time Out" in my phone after sometime...
I though it's only me facing the issue. Please help in it. @grishka 🙏🏼

Had same issue until deactivated DND (do not disturbed) mode in my mac mini, the works great but cant see the neardrop extension in the share menu in my mac.
Bump Edit: I have tried installing different versions multiple times over the past few weeks, suddenly I try again and it works. 🤔

Don't do that. If you want something fixed, investigate it yourself.

That's a good sentiment, but 99.99% of people are not experts in developing software for MacOS (personally, I spend my precious few bits of spare time editing video freelance) so, I would not even have a single iota of an idea of the fundamentals of the knowledge required to even begin investigating it myself.
However, I do greatly appreciate this app and your efforts, and I agree with you. So, I will try fruitlessly to forget this software ever existed and move on with my life.
