NearDrop not working on Sequoia Developer Beta
Hi I'm running Android 14 and Sequoia Developer Beta 1. I'm running the latest version but can't see either device from the phone or the mac. Thanks for your help!!
In my case transfer works from Android to macOS but not vice versa. Also A14 and macOS Sequoia Developer Beta 6
i get this on my phone
nothing happens on the mac side
Same here on Sequoia 14.1 dev beta and A13 Samsung.
With Bluetooth enabled on Mac (and WiFi disabled), I see an incoming file notification on Mac, but the file does not appear in Downloads when I approve the transfer, and there is no error message.
When I enable WiFi on Mac, I no longer get the incoming file notification, and the Mac does not appear in the QuickShare transfer dialog on Android. However, native Bluetooth share from Android to Mac works correctly.
Sharing from Mac to Android also works correctly, but Android sometimes changes the "Who can share" setting back to "Your devices", which is a bit of a nuisance. (It might have occurred after a reboot.)
Sequoia 15.1.1
update: I finally got it to work by disabling my desktop firewall, but the Mac was not visible on Android until I restarted NearDrop. ⭐️ It would be helpful to know what firewall bypass rules NearDrop needs to function properly.
disabled my "Firewall" too and still does not work, Bluetooth transfers fine, macOS 15.2
Same in mac 15.2
runs perfectly for me
- What version of Android?
- Can you see any errors in
Console.appif you filter on "neardrop" ? - Is Airdrop on Mac enabled or disabled ?
NearDrop not working for both Android to Mac and Mac to Android I use the following:
- MacBook M4 Air with Sequoia 15.3.2
- NearDrop 2.1.0
- Android 15 with latest Google Files/NearbyShare Tried the below with disabling firewall and restarting NearDrop too
