so it seems there's no way of making hospot on macOS

however it is possible to create a hospot on android, but it has to be disabled in order to use nearby share

is there a way to get around that ? i'm often in places without wifi

kde connect does work without wifi, but u neeed to connect it to your phone hospot (even if the phone has no wifi nor 4g)

You can actually create a wifi hotspot on a Mac: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/mchlp1540/mac

thank you very much ! unfortunately it looks different on ventura, unless i'm missing something

I only see ways to connect it via TB, ethernet , or usb (iphone) , but not with wifi direct . and i'm not prompted to enter a wp3 code either . lmk if i'm doing something wrong

EDIT: looks like wifi hospot on macOS only work if the mac is connected via ethernet , but there is no way to share if the mac is connected via wifi
