Allow Files List to Be Sorted Into Date Added Order
Apologies if there's a way to do this that I'm unaware of, however I only seem to be able to sort the files list by name and nothing else. While this is fine for a single batch of files, it can be annoying if I want to prepare a bunch of files for processing.
Now, if there's a queue already running then this isn't a problem, as you can just add a load of files, set them up and then add them to the queue. However if the queue isn't running then you can't seem to do this.
Anyway, what I'd like is the ability to return sorting of the files list to be in the order that the files were added to the list. This way I could add several TV shows for example, and easily process them without them being muddled up, building up a list of items ready to write.
What do you mean when the queue isn't running you can't seem to do this? As far as I know all permutations of adding selected files to the queue, adding all loaded files to the queue and starting/stopping the queue at will should be possible. With keyboard shortcuts and toolbar item for them all. The Write and Write All buttons (and keyboard shortcuts) simply work by adding selected files or all loaded files to the queue and starting the queue if it isn't running.
Every time I add something to the queue it starts the queue running which isn't really what I want; sometimes I'm doing other file operations so I want to setup the queue/list ready to run later. I can always stop the queue after each group of additions, but it's kind of annoying to do that.
I suppose with that in mind though, perhaps this issue could be fixed by having a stopped queue remain stopped when more items are added?
If you look in the Tools menu there should be two items that does just that. Add to Queue and Add all to Queue. They are also available as toolbar items if you customize it. They will add the items to the queue but not start the processing.
