Failed to display WAX wallet available amount
To who the master,
I'm newbie for Anchor. I created Wax Cloud Wallet and would like to add into Anchor Desktop (windows 10 pro) version. I installed Anchor Desktop v1.2.3, created password and import private key success. After import, I managed to view resources, however Home page all show 0.0000 amount. I still have balance in WAX wallet.
I try reset application and reimport again, I try reinstall Anchor. But it still display zero amount in home page.
Anyone have any idea how to solve this?
Thanks. CJ
I'm not sure you can import a WAX Cloud Wallet account into Anchor. As far as I know, you can't get the private key out of it - unless they've changed something.
Did you create a new account, one that wouldn't have a balance?
One thing you could check would be to lookup your account(s?) on a block explorer, like wax.bloks.io. See if you have a balance there or not on the account that's displayed in Anchor. If you see it in the block explorer but not in Anchor, then maybe we have a bug or maybe the API Anchor is using isn't behaving properly.
Hi aaroncox,
Thank for response. Yes, I have balance when login to wax.bloks.io. I try below API server, all connected but still not able to show balance. But I able to see the resources (RAM, CPU, NET). https://wax.eosrio.io https://wax.greymass.com https://wax.eosn.io https://api.waxsweden.org
Is there minimum wax token to be in Anchor wallet?
Thanks. CJ
When you log in to wax.bloks.io with the WAX cloud wallet, or when you log in with Anchor?
Anchor doesn't have any requirements and will show accounts with any balance amount. What I'm wondering is if you have 2 accounts, one in the WAX cloud wallet and one in Anchor, which may be different. Do the account names match exactly?
Hi aaroncox,
Yes I have 2 accound which is WAX cloud wallet (WCW) and Anchor. First I created WCW and perform some transaction. But wan to use Anchor and link to WCW as some of the app only support Ahchor wallet. Thus I import WCW into anchor with using private key. All these success and manage to view WCW resoucess info. However it did not display WAX token balance.
Regards, CJ
I don't think it's possible to import a WCW into Anchor - the WCW accounts private keys cannot be accessed as far as I know. This means you can't import them into Anchor since Anchor requires a private key. You would actually need to create a new account that's independent of the WCW account. Accounts also cannot be linked to one another, they would be independent accounts that don't share a balance or resources.
Do you mind sharing the account name(s) of the two accounts you're using? If you don't want to share publicly (for privacy sake) on Github, feel free to email them to me at [email protected].
I don't think there's a bug here, just confusion as to which WAX account has your balances.
