Exception in thread: %s [Errno 13] Permission denied

I'm trying to use this on macos 10.15. I'll run the script from CLI and I get the following:

Starting...

Brackets: 3
Sets: 1

Merging 0
Exception in thread: %s [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Applications/Blender.app'
Progress: 100.0
Done!!!

The jpg and exr folders are created but it fails at the merge. Any ideas about what is causing the permission error?

I don't have a mac to test on sorry. Make sure you and the script have permissions in the blender folder and the folder you're trying to write to.

Just chiming in here.. The issue is with the fact that python isn't calling the executable directly its calling the Blender.app Package... if you right click your Blender.app you will notice you can "Show Package Contents", this will enable you to go inside and grab the actual executable path and copy it into the 'exe_paths.json".

In the below example ive assumed that both Blender and Luminance are installed into the /Applications folder..

{
    "blender_exe": "/Applications/Blender.app/Contents/MacOS/Blender",
    "luminance_cli_exe": "/Applications/Luminance HDR 2.4.0.app/Contents/MacOS/luminance-hdr-cli"
}

Once you have updated and saved then you should be able to execute the script. Ive tried this on MacOS 11, and it seems to run fine.
