How can I set the animation duration?I want to slow it down somehow.

Currently setting the animation duration is not supported. I will add it at some point.

Any progress on this? I would also want to animate over a different amount of time

Not yet, I was occupied with other things. My plan is to have the animation fully configurable I just lack time to actually do it. Having said that I will accept sensible PRs :)
