tick-box tasks: only the first and the last one can be clicked (done/undone)

hello,

I like tick-box sub-tasks (inserted in card description as lines starting with "- []")

currently I realized that only the first and the last in a series have a box that can be clicked (to toggle done/undone) right from the unopened card. this doesn't change with or without blank lines between the items

is this just for me? any work-around known?

actually, I had not realized this before just because it is not a systematic behaviour. I see this on two of my cards, but can't reproduce it on new cards now. I could though modify the "bad" cards adding and deleting sub-tasks, and the bad behaviour persists on them. any clue on what could be wrong?

in each case, the two middle boxes cannot be ticked

I suspect the character "+" in the item contents is an issue. it turned an item non-clikable when I added it. it's not the whole story though, since one of the cases didn't include a "+" character, but I didn't investigate further
