Selecting alternate recipe changes the production chain even though it's not used either way

Open rster2002 opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Description

I've been working on a aluminium factory and have been collecting hard-drives at time same time and entering them in the tool to see if the factory can be build more efficiently. I noticed however that when I selected the 'Pure aluminium' alternate recipe the factory changed even though it doesn't use the recipe.

Expected

I would expect that the tool shows the same production chain with or without unused alternate recipes.

Reproducing

  1. Go to this production chain: https://www.satisfactorytools.com/production?share=q5HTs3wNMORPvuiW1xLh
  2. Note the power consumption in the overview tab. It should show 3428.889 MW.
  3. Select the 'Pure aluminium' recipe
  4. Go back to the overview tab and now the power consumption dropped to 2268.47 MW and the overview has changed even though it does not use the alternate recipe.

If you need anything else just let me know.

Hi, this is most likely caused by the fact that maximise doesn't optimise the production line towards minimal resource consumption. It just stops when it finds any solution that makes the most possible items. I recommend after using maximise, copy the amounts you get and use items/min production.

Maximise will eventually be optimising as well, it's in my future plans.
