It would also be nice to highlight recipes that can be used in pipeline

Also, it is hard to distinguish between selected and unselected recipes while scrolling.

So maybe also change the view of checked checkbox?

another idea to improve the recipes tab: sort and categorize the recipes by tier. When I am about half through the game and have been busy collecting hard drives, I currently have the option to find and select about 50 alternative recipes that I already have or select all and then deselect the 45 that I don't have - either is tedious. I'd like to be able to select "all of Tier 1", "all of Tier 2", "All of Tier 3", etc., deselect the one or two I don't have yet of those tiers and completely ignore Tier 5 and higher, depending on how far I am into the game.

The problem is that alt recipes don't really have tiers

Most alt recipes become available once you have unlocked specific milestones that become available once you've unlocked tiers. For the few others that are unlocked by MAM research only, one can determine a tier e.g. by the machine needed (Tier 3 for Foundry, Tier 7 for Blender, etc.) That's close enough I'd say. If you want I can propose a full list. Doing the sectioning for standard recipes also removes the problem many encounter that's mentioned in another issue: the converter recipes for raw materials are in a high tier that should be disabled by default.
