Do you have any suggestions on how to render it?

I am also interested in having the icon rendered on the map or even just the name, since in my country (Argentina) there are a lot of them and as they are now it is difficult to see at a glance for the average user.

Thought for festive events like birthdays, weddings, banquets, etc, I think the icon could be something with balloons or confetti e.g. https://publicdomainvectors.org/en/free-clipart/Color-balloons-vector-illustration/11615.html https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Emojione_1F388.svg https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/party_3696847

I don't know what you think.

Support for this. Please at least some generic features like the name and some (generic) icon. Something.

There is already an icon in the ID-editor. Why not use that? That's my repeated question in these cases.

We have now 15.746 uses in the db.

Because they often do not work in this style. We use monochromatic, 14x14 px icons which is often the problem.

BTW iD uses (only read the code): https://fontawesome.com/v4/icon/users

Any progress on this? Even if it's just making the name visible?

I agree that this would be a great tag to render (currently 31k uses), but nobody has created a suitable icon. Rendering just the name is not an option - there has to be a symbol which allows the map user to understand what the POI represents. This project relies on volunteers to contribute - if nothing has happened, that is because nobody has contributed.
