Wrong icon for .exe files

Wrong icon is used for application/x-ms-dos-executable files. Should be used icon as for application/x-executable as Windows 95 do.

This was addressed in one of the various pull requests, but I can't recall which one. The icon however is the old MS DOS icon and not this "application-x-executable.png." I don't know which is the correct icon, but seeing that "ms-dos" is in the name, I suppose the MS DOS icon would be more correct?

Only if you made shortcuts on those executables, or edited something in properties where it made a .PIF launcher. Either of those had the MS-DOS icon but not the .EXE itself. image_2022-03-16_072918

Otherwise they just had the standard icon like OP said image_2022-03-16_073019
