Is there a way to stop the playground from firing introspection query?
This issue pertains to the following package(s):
- [ ] GraphQL Playground - Electron App
- [ ] GraphQL Playground HTML
- [ ] GraphQL Playground
- [x] GraphQL Playground Express Middleware
- [ ] GraphQL Playground Hapi Middleware
- [ ] GraphQL Playground Koa Middleware
- [ ] GraphQL Playground Lambda Middleware
What version of graphql-playground(-electron/-middleware) are you experiencing the issue(s) on?
Express Middleware
What is the expected behavior?
We disabled introspection in our apollo server in production, but our playground is still sending an introspection query, which errors out. Would be nice if, since we know we disable introspection in production, that we just "turn off" the introspection query being sent from the playground as well.
I thought setting the option introspection: false
at the top level would have done it.
you need to set "schema.enablePolling": false
in playground config
This worked for me:
"schema.polling.enable": false
Can we not have this disabled by default, it is causing me (and probably others) a lot of pain when you have a large schema. As soon as the playground is shown in the browser, the introspection kicks in and competes with existing resources, it has high CPU and memory consumption.
This is also a huge issue for me. I have tried disabling this, but it's still polling (all the time) in the background no matter what.
It also runs queries multiple times, which is also something I'd like to disable.
The app is great, but it assumes too much about the user's needs which makes it almost impossible to use.
Hi! I have not been able to get the schema polling to turn off. The settings within the playground show schema.polling.enable: false now, but the multiple requests are still happening. Any advice would be appreciated
My setup is the following: const server = new ApolloServer({ schema, tracing : true, playground: { settings: { "schema.polling.enable": false, "request.credentials": "include" } },
I am using serverless graphql lambda
graphql is spamming my CLI with a huge message:
I turned it off on polling butit still shows once when I first load up the graphql playground.
I'd like it to not display in the CLI at all, because as you can see it's creating a huge amount of clutter. how is this possible to achieve?

Any news on this? This is a huge pain
Any update ?
This still a pain, the only way that i find to disable it is: setting introspection: true
Then in plugins:
plugins: [ ApolloServerPluginLandingPageGraphQLPlayground({ settings: { "schema.polling.enable": false } }) ],
On this only request are made, then no more. with introspection: false
schema.polling.enable
is completely ignored
you need to set
"schema.enablePolling": false
in playground config
Remember to reload your playground for the changes to take effect.
