Equations are unreadable in dark mode

The rendered equation images used in the main page are unreadable when a browser, such as Firefox, respects the system's light/dark mode policies to "dark".

Suggested action: render the text with a white outline, so that it's still visible in a dark background.

OS: Windows 11 (ver 10.0.22631) Browser: Firefox 133.0 Extensions: Dark Reader (neither activating nor deactivating it seems to make a difference)
