Feature request: Show brew score distribution and best params on bean page

In order to determine how good a bean is (for my setup and taste) and its optimal parameters, it would be useful if there were ways to link up brew stats to beans, eg

Distribution of brew scores for every time a bean was brewed (mean as well as distribution because consistency is important)

Graphs correlating brew ratio/temperature/grind/bean age to score (for each bean) - might be tricky because obv all 3 vars are interdependent and one might rarely have enough data to be meaningful, but might be useful if you are sticking with a bean and optimising.

As alternative, a quick way of seeing params from the top scoring brew(s) might be good so when you revisit a bean you can start from the best params for that bean

Hi @tokenstar, great request! At the moment I need to say there is no timeframe where I could dig deep into this, also a call between us, to research this would be an awesome solution.

Maybe I can show you a possible workaround for the meantime. In the latest version 5.2 there was the possibility to rate brews as a favourite, which can be combined with the -1 to 5 rating stars.

In the brews you can filter for favourites and ratings aswell.

Also in 6.0 there will be a possibility to download an excel file with brews, beans, preparations and grinders in it to filter even more.

Does this match (a bit?) or you are thinking in a complete different direction?

favourites could be used as a workaround, but it requires manual work

I guess my request here could be split into:

1. show distributions of brew scores vs params for beans (quite a lot of work - maybe excel file would be the solution for this)
2. show best scoring brew for each bean -- matching the specific question of "if I get a new bag of a bean i last tried 6 months ago, what settings should I start with?".

for the latter, one approach might be:

• enable sorting on the brews page, specifically sorting by score
• enable a quick-link from the bean page to the brew page with filter=that bean and sorting=descending by score

I would love it if there was an option to create a scatter plot graph using 4 drop down menus. This would allow a user to select a bean, a brew method and 2 parameters to compare on the x and y axis, like grind size and brew time so the user could easily see how these parameters affect each other. (possible parameters: temp, grind size, dose, brew ratio, score)
