Add HLS support up to version 7 of the protocol

Is there any work being done on this? Do anyone have a estimate on the amount of work that would be required to support up to version 7?

There's no direct work being done on it, if there are particular features in version 7 that you require, it's possible those could be implemented depending on the scope. But PRs will be welcome and we can walk through those if required.
