Error creating a new account

Been trying to create a new account for about a few weeks or so and it keeps telling me there’s a “ 500 - Internal server error.”

I came here to report this also. I've only been trying for a couple of days though. The error occurs after filling out the registration form and hitting the Register button. No activation email is received.

I tried again today and it did accept my form input and sent me a confirmation email. However the link in the email didn't work. I immediately checked my email and followed the link so it should not be expired.
