[notification] Call for translation update
This issue will stay open. I'll add a comment approximately one week before each release, to give translators a heads-up.
- subscribe to the issue
- Review/update translations if you have time, write a comment if you want, be part of the team ;-)
Thanks,
@Vistaus let's try this instead of email.

I'd like to release 3.10.4 next week-end. Any pending translation (looks good to me except 1 fuzzy in de.po)? @TZocker I've re-run make messages to update de.po with max line width=80 characters (the default and same as other translation files). Can you check in your poedit advanced preferences that
- wrap at 79 is checked
- preserve formatting of existing files is checked
Playing with these settings, I could reproduce your formatting by unchecking both.
Dear translators, I'd like to release 3.10.6 shortly (not before Dec. 28). If you would like to check translations one more time in 2018, now is the time :-) Thanks,
No translation changes for 3.10.7, so relax and enjoy the show ;-) Cheers,
Hi, in 3.10.9 there seems to be only 2 changed messages to translate, with the inclusion of podcast titles in error messages... Please update translations accordingly :-) Thanks,
Hi,
I'd like to release 3.10.10 this week-end or next week.
Please can you check the 2 episode_website_context_menu.py translations?
The action is now available also on the podcast, not only episode, so that changes the extension description slightly...
Thanks,
Actually, there is also the description for the new youtube-dl extension...
hi there, this is not really gpodder related but it kinda is, here goes: currently videos are not downloading via youtube-dl, someone has submitted an issue about the problem, so your youtube-dl extention/ addon will not function till the issue is fixed or a work around is put inplace. just thought I would let you all be aware of the fact before people would create issues thinking that the youtube-dl extention was at fault. I hope this helps someone, Majid Hussain

Hi all, gPodder 3.10.14 will be out next (April 11th) week-end, with new strings to translate:
- the "Filter Episodes" extension;
- gpo extension management
- feed update errors
Dear translators,
I hope you and your families are all well!
I'd like to release gPodder next week (or a bit later pending a youtube-dl release).
New strings are menu items to search in podcasts and episodes, as well as description for the --quiet gpodder flag.
@Vistaus don't worry about the "join" notification: I considered creating a Translators Team but it doesn't give anything more than adding comments to this issue. As a team we could create discussions, but they would be private, which is not desirable for this...

I understand, but thanks for the clarification :) I just joined.
Dear translators, I'm planning a new gPodder release on November 14. Only a handful of strings have changed: combined error message for feed update and a new HLS youtube format. If you would be so kind as to update localizations accordingly... Best regards,
Hi, How can i do it correct? Engl. %d channel(s) failed to update Singular: %d Kanal konnte(n) nicht aktualisiert werden Plural: %d Kanäle konnte(n) nicht aktualisiert werden
I think i need here a msgid_plural.
THX
Added the msgid_plural and hopefully the correct translation in master for de, fr, nl.
Added Italian translation to the pull requests...

We are planning a release in a week. There are new "Size+" and "Duration+" strings that represent combined Size+Duration and Duration+Size columns.
I'm planning a release in a few days. The only new string is the "Open" episode menu item.
I noticed this project on https://weblate.bubu1.eu/projects/gpodder/#information Is that that going to be populated, or should I add translations here?
I don't know what that is, but this is the official project for gpodder. You are welcome to submit a PR here with translations.
All Gtk translations for buttons have been removed and will need new translations in gpodder.
I'm planning a release in about one week. There is a new youtube-dl preferences page and at least one other preference page has had changes to its text.
@auouymous, I have a fews questions and comments regarding the new strings:
There is a new string %(count)d pausing. What is the difference between this one and the older %(count)d paused string? When are the the two strings used?
There is also a new string %(count)d cancelling. When is this used?
Several new strings mentions ‘Youtube-DL’. Note that, according to the homepage and Git repo, the official spelling seems to be ‘youtube-dl’, i.e., in all lowercase. (And if you want to avoid writing the name using all lowercase, ‘YouTube-DL’, i.e., with an uppercase T, would probably be better, as that uses the official capitalisation of YouTube.)
There’s also a new string 200 in the .po files. Should we really be allowed to change/translate this?
All four strings (pausing, paused, cancelling and cancelled) are shown in the progress tab when the user pauses or cancels a download. The pausing and cancelling strings are briefly shown while a download task transitions to the paused or cancelled states.
I changed all variations of Youtube-DL capitalization to youtube-dl, and Youtube to YouTube. I also removed the 200 from translations.
Added Italian translation to the pull requests...
