How can I disable auto focus when lens is AF ? CANON 2000d

First of all, thanks for this excellent tool.

I have to use my camera on AF mode, and take a photo with remote shutter. When i try this, camera tries to focus but it can not focus because of dark.

I want to take a picture using shutter button but without focus. In cli i can do this with gphoto2 --set-config eosremoterelease=Immediate --set-config eosremoterelease="Release Full" --wait-event-and-download but as i said, i have to use shutter button physically.

To be honest, i connected shutter cables to relay. i control shutter with relay, like a pushing shutter button.

Is there any way to AF mode ON/OFF with gphoto2 ?

Also, when i trying to take a photo without focus, i do not remember what i did but it was something different happen. In this video when touch the shutter button (even if i do't click) camera tries the take photo but photo does not exist. Watch the video: look youtube video

Thanks for every answers.

You can control focus with the "focusmode" property, e.g. set it to "Manual" there.

You can in this mode still trigger a "one-shot autofocus" using --set-config autofocusdrive=1 (this is an action and can be repeated when needed, does not stick)
