Toot about organizations that have good data
The feature
It would be nice for promotional reasons if we had a Mastodon bot that sent messages about organizations where we have good data.
A list of such organizations could be made by a modified version of organization-optional.rq but where the OPTIONAL
is removed from the retrieval of ?website, ?email, ?parentOrg, ?wikipedia and the bundles with ?regulatoryTextItem, ?office and ?phone
This would ensure that there would be no [missing data]
showing up and that someone could reach them at least in some way and read more about them.
A message could be constructed like:
Random pick of the week: {{flagemoji}} {{ orgLabel }} is a {{ typeLabel }}. See more at: https://govdirectory.org/{{ safeName }}/{{ qid }} Find other public organizations in {{ name }} at: https://govdirectory.org/{{ safeName }}
Preferably, we should shuffle this in a way so that we try to get organizations from different countries and not all from the same one lined up in the queue.
Depending on how many organizations we get through the query, we could decide how often to send a message. Once per day might be good if we have more than 400 in the backlog, if less, once per week is perhaps a better pacing.
Why?
To show examples of high quality data in Govdirectory.
Examples and inspiration
Here's an example of British MPs based on Wikidata:

Currently, we have about ~100 organizations without missing data
, all from Sweden.
