How screen readers pronounce 'content' in context with...

Open LaurenceRLewis opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

Minor recommendation:

Screen readers announce the word 'content' in the 'Skip to content' bypass block in the context of 'feeling content' the inflection is different to the intended meaning of 'the word.

Adding the word 'main' into the mix fixes the pronunciation 'Skip to main content' is vocalized in the correct pronunciation.

Pedantic; I know :-)

Hey @LaurenceRLewis nice pick up again!

I could recreate this issue using Jaws and NVDA screen readers.

Voiceover pronounces it correctly, however.

I think this a quick fix and we will definitely need to explain our change in the rationale section for skip links.
