GreedyCraft mod duplicate issue, does not happen on other launchers

Open tilda opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

Describe the bug The modpack GreedyCraft fails to launch when using GDLauncher due to a mod duplication error related to CustomSkinLoader. I have tested with MultiMC (launcher recommended by pack devs) and this does not happen there.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install GreedyCraft from CurseForge
  2. Try to launch it
  3. Get duplicate mod error for CustomSkinLoader

Expected behavior For the pack to launch

Operating System:

  • OS: Windows
  • Version: 11
  • Java Version: 8 using automatic setup
  • Minecraft Version: 1.12.2
  • Mod Loader: Forge 14.23.5.2855

Additional context Also reported on pack issue tracker as TCreopargh/GreedyCraft#245

can be solved by deleting the client side mod. That mod specifically

Ah, I didn't know it was a clientside mod. It does launch without the mod but regardless I think this issue's still something to keep open (because really, that's just a workaround and ideally I wouldn't have to remove it)

Just spent a couple of hours debugging stuff and being bullied by my friend group to use Prism instead.

Why is this still an issue?

You know you could just have deleted the duplicate file?

The problem is that there is no duplicate file. It is specifically with GDLauncher that this error happens, with this mod being the only example of this occurring that I could find.

Install CustomSkinLoader in a fresh Forge instance for yourself and you'll see.
