Bug: Upload Waiting for User Input v1.50

Open catch-point opened this issue 2 years ago • 11 comments

When I use the upload command !U, the UI gets stuck on "Upload Complete" and does not continue with the script. It appears to be waiting for user input before it will continue.

For example the following command will only upload one video and will eventually run out of battery while on the "Upload Complete" screen. !14:00NmTp.60!S!60E!U!1R

Same thing for motion detection when uploading, only the first video gets uploaded, no other video is recorded. !SM3D4H5!U!R

I am using Hero Black 10 H21.01.01.50.70

!U worked for me as expected before I upgraded to 1.50. However, I downgraded back to H21.01.01.46.70 and similar issue to this (waiting for user input) now occurs.

Labs folks where not aware of this mainline firmware change. Do a factory reset using 1.46.70 and it should work as before. The only fix for that nag screen on 1.50.70 is to enable the auto clear, as that will stop the ask. Same issue on HERO11.

Factory Reset w/ 01.46.70 on Hero 10 Black didn't resolve it for me.

That seems odd, as 1.46.70 doesn't have that user prompts.

Working again on Hero 10 Black 0.1.46.70. Not sure what resolved it, but I tried everything in the reset menu and restarted a few times and changed the battery. What are the changes of another firmware update to Hero Black 10?

I experienced what seems like the same bug.

I'm looking to take timeplapse photos for a construction project with a HERO10 Black plugged into power. I plan to set a start time and end time, and upload to my subscription account. My script is below, with a shorter time window just for testing. This worked a few weeks ago as expected with firmware v1.46.70. But when I updated to v1.50.70, the waking-shooting-upload sequence only worked once, on the first day (rather than continuing to function daily). After reinstalling v1.46.70, the waking-shooting-upload sequence works everyday again.

Hi, Auto clear is not available on Hero 10 as well as MAX. So the solution is downgrading to v1.46.70 on HERO 10? What about MAX. MAX has the same issue when finished with uploading. I have to tap the screen

I don't know about MAX, I'm still using HERO 10 w/ v01.46.70. I have found that !OR is more reliable than !R and have been using the follow to record motion+upload: mV5r1080p30fW0dR0aWg1dLoC0W1!MBOOT="hS2!SM5-7H30hS0!U!OR"

Thanks. More reliable still means, not 100%? Becuase if it gets stuck, it breaks down my entire system. I rather just forget about this hero 10, or try to sell it

No issues since I switch to using !OR, but I don't use it every day. However, gopro wasn't designed to be used as a security camera, so no guarantees.

Just found this Post, any chance someone could provide ZIP to 1.46.70? would be much appreciated! greetings

Looks like it is still available here: https://media.githubusercontent.com/media/gopro/labs/master/docs/firmware/lfs/LABS_HERO10_01_46_70.zip
