Maintenance status
Is the project still maintained? It hasn't been following the new Python versions for a while, and the overall activity is pretty low. This repo is pointed by Google Maps docs as an "official Python library," so it's expected to be maintained.
If there is a way to contribute, please let us know. If not, can you please announce it "not being maintained"?

README.md on branch https://github.com/googlemaps/google-maps-services-python/tree/wescpy was updated in Dec 2024 to indicate that, indeed, the project is quasi-supported and looking for community contributions.
There is apparently a Discord channel for support, but no mention of Python there, just Javascript stuff. Unclear if there are any actual Googlers monitoring the chat.
