Lots of examples are likely to be jpegs Svgs etc from screen captures or photos taken of books. This will be fast to add.

But it might be really useful for older foundries to provide positive samples using their own fonts or to use libre fonts that address a particular design issue well.

I expect that if we did add HTML support for references that the sweet spot for examples would be simple 1-5 line text settings.
