Will this Figma Stickersheet, managed by the official Google Fonts team still receive updates? It was updated 5 months ago and icons like "diversity_3" are still missing.

Thanks for your help!

As I see the Figma Stickersheet was updated 5 months ago, while that icon was added 7 months ago. So even worse: There are missing icons in the Figma Stickersheet, but I don't know which ones...

The Stickersheet has now been updated—but we highly recommend using the Material Symbols plugin for Figma (https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/740272380439725040), as it is automatically kept up to date.

Thank you! I just switched to using an icon font. The Symbols plugin is not helpful when creating a design system that is backed up by all possible material icons. The stickersheet had a lot of nice additional tags and stuff, but its to much effort to keep an own copy up to date because you can't relink the components and loose all component descriptions when unlinking and componetizing them again.

I have created a hybrid solution so you can profit from both: Tags and the easy font maintenance. If you are interested I can create a public Figma file so we can publish it together as it is with the stickersheet currently, as a font alternative? :)

That sounds very interesting, but I have to admit I have no idea what exactly your “hybrid solution” would look like! Is there some way you can show some sort of smaller-scale demo or something? It would be up to @seasehee1 whether this interested her.

Sorry for my late reply, I had to make sure that this is no problem for my employer.

Yeah, since it might need some explanations, I could record a short video or we meet up remotely - what would you prefer? @seasehee1

The figma plugin is not useful when you need to replace icons in a component of the design system. We need this plugin to create a file of all the icons as component variants.

If the figma plugin can dump / update icons on a figma document .. then we can locally publish it and use it in the design files. I think it is an easy addition.

I tried cloning this repository and creating the library file with a particular width and style, but git crashed (filename too long) and I could not even open the files.
