Get user's favorite pictures

Hi. I am the author of a picture frame type application which displays the user's favorite pictures.

Since the API changes, it is no longer possible to get the user's pictures.

The documentation indicates:

What you can do: If your app relies on accessing the user's entire library, you may need to re-evaluate your app or consider alternative approaches.

What are the "alternative approaches"?
