GAPID doesn't see any connected devices throw USB

Developer mode enabled ADB installed and "adb devices" reports me connected device

Does the gapit devices command show the device?

Would also be useful to have the logcat from the device captured while GAPID is trying to discover it.

I have the same issue. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a. GAPIT trace... returns "Error Internal error: Tracing Failed Cause: Cannot take the requested type of trace on this device"

I thought that still worked, but it's possible that is an issue. Alternatively, could you try and uninstall both the gapid.arm64v8a and gapid.armeabiv7a apks from your device and then retry?

uninstalled com.google.android.gapid.arm64v8a - which is the only one installed. Still failed.

I've specified the full android name + activity instead of the local apk filename and I'm able to get something like a trace.

Literally neither the "device" nor "type" dropdowns respond in the UI in the latest. I can trace sometimes using command line, although I only need a single snapsnot, and the full traces are fairly unstable as well.
