unable to proceed at WriteFile prompt

Open joeyCorea opened this issue 4 weeks ago • 2 comments

What happened?

I am using the VSCode integration if that helps. This issue doesn't happen when I use a separate powershell terminal.

At the WriteFile prompt, gemini won't let me pick between

  1. allow once
  2. always allow

I can highlight the options. But, if I hit "enter", or "1" or "2", nothing happens.

I can always allow 3. Something else (esc)

Sorry if I haven't got the exact wording of the message right.

Eventually, it fails with this:

✖ [ERROR] [IDEClient] IDE connection error. The connection was lost unexpectedly. Please try reconnecting by running /ide enable ││ fetch failed ││ ✖========================================= ││ This is an unexpected error. Please file a bug report using the /bug tool. ││ CRITICAL: Unhandled Promise Rejection! ││ ========================================= ││ Reason: TypeError: fetch failed ││ Stack trace: ││ TypeError: fetch failed ││ at c:\tools\nvm\v22.14.0\node_modules@google\gemini-cli\node_modules\undici\index.js:124:13 ││ at async ││ file:///c:/tools/nvm/v22.14.0/node_modules/@google/gemini-cli/node_modules/@google/gemini-cli-core/dist/src/ide/ide-client.js:512:30 ││ at async StreamableHTTPClientTransport.send ▄││ (file:///c:/tools/nvm/v22.14.0/node_modules/@google/gemini-cli/node_modules/@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/dist/esm/client/streamableHttp.js:296:3█││ 0) (x32)

What did you expect to happen?

The ability to select "allow once" or "allow always"

I noticed that this is a possible duplicate of 10423 which has since been closed. It's still happening though!
