Have you tried downloading from HuggingFace through your normal web browser and using the plus button in the bottom-right corner of Edge Gallery to load the file? It worked for me.
(Before you try to load the file make sure to close other apps, otherwise the app might run out of memory and crash).

Adding the model after manual download does not make it appear in the "ask image" area

Yes, when adding model from file you have to switch on "vision" switch.

It may happen that the problem appears when internet connection is not stable and an app tries to continue download on connection break. Just an impression.

Hello, version 1.0.3, device poco x7 pro. However, after fighting with downloads I was able to start it. I think there is some failure when downloading or if the device goes off.

This was caused by a bug in the app where it didn't properly detect incomplete downloads. The latest release should fix this. Please give it a try:
- For US users: Install the app from Google Play.
- For users outside the US: install the apk from the latest release
