Sound Issues using Controller in Steam Game Mode

Open noelmiller opened this issue 6 months ago • 2 comments

Update disclaimer

  • [x] Yes, I have checked and my issue is not related to the game updating and plugins not working correctly.

What did you do?

When using a PS4 controller that is plugged using USB in Steam Game Mode, the game sound is skipping. When selecting the input that works properly, the sound skipping will happen. When selecting Wireless Controller Input option, input of the controller will no longer work, but the sound skipping will stop.

When unplugging the controller, the sound skipping will stop, so it seems to be something related to how XIV Launcher is interacting with Steam input.

The issue was not happening yesterday, so it seems like the latest update is causing this issue.

Platform

Linux (Wine/Proton)

Wine/Proton runner version

I just confirmed this is not exclusive to Game Mode. When launching the game through Steam in Desktop mode, it is doing the same thing.

Clear prefix through Troubleshooting -> Clear Prefix should "fix it", but there are still a lot of bugs like background configurations not working. They changed the default Wine, try to put the Legacy wine that actually work properly.
