What happened, what did not, what did you want to happen?

[Feature Request]

Option to download new patches without booting the game right away after installation is complete

Rationale

For users of TexTools, whenever there's a new patch, TexTools needs to be run once in order to run it's update script AFTER game is patched. When using Launcher, after filling the login information (be on the launcher or via quick-login where you just need to fill OTP), if it detects a new patch, it'll download all files and apply them. After the installation, it'll straight boot the game.

In this scenario, after user filled the OTP and wait for patching installation, user need to close the game (via Exit or even force quitting before that), then open TexTools, wait for the update script to finish, then re-start Launcher, fill a new OTP, then boot the game.

To avoid having to fill OTP twice, wasting the first session, it would be great to have an option (checkbox) on settings which, instead of booting the game right away after a patch download and apply, it'll give a notice that patching is done, with an alert having 'boot' and 'close' buttons, one to start the game and the later to close Launcher. For example:

This way a TexTool user can:

  • Login on Launcher
  • Be alerted about game update, Download and apply patches
  • Be prompted that patch installation is done through the alert (example above) (which enables user to open TexTools for the update script first)
  • Click on 'boot game' using the same Login/OTP session and enjoy game already having their mods again, without having to double login or forcefully close game on the first time

Final thoughts

The option to either boot or close can also benefit non-textools users, as then you can safely patch the game and close launcher after without having to boot game then close or hastily try close the game via another means.

That means you can patch the game and have it "ready to go" prior to the time you actually want/are able to play, let's say, like when wanted to update it during work time for example.

It would kinda mimics how Steam works for other games, where it download patches for you on the side, or even XIV patches on PlayStation now work, where it gets patch data, so when you get to your videogame the game is already updated for you (if you have auto-download ON when on standby, of course): you open, put OTP, download patches, close it.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you.
