Prevent suspension when there are active processes

My environment

  • OS: Arch Linux
  • DE: Cinnamon 6.4.6
  • Tilix: 1.9.6
  • VTE: 0.80
  • GTK: 3.24.49

I would like to prevent the machine from going into sleep mode when there are active processes on Tilix.

I often run clang on Tilix and perform long compilations.
In my desktop environment settings, I have configured the system to suspend after 30 minutes of inactivity.

However, when clang is running, the machine suspends after 30 minutes, which is causing issues. I would like an option to prevent the machine from sleeping when there are active processes running.

why this would be tilix issue? You can inhibit automatic suspension before starting long build e.g. with https://systemd.io/INHIBITOR_LOCKS/ depending on your DE
