feature request: convert spaces to tabs as global option

my beloved tilix is able to convert spaces to tabs and vice versa when the advanced paste dialog is enabled. Would it be possible to have this functionality as a as global option, to e.g. being able to remove all leading tabs and thus circumvent troubles with bash completion? thanks!
