mouseless URL opening or yanking

i used to use urxvt for a long time and frequently used a perl plugin that allows for mouseless URL yanking. since my desktop is moslty keyboard driven (awesomewm, qutebrowser, ...) i would love to see such a feature in terminator. is a feature / plugin like this doable or feasible?

I don't see any reason why it would be impossible, but I am really not clear on the best user interface for that, and I was hoping that I could look over Bart's code to see how he did it, but his git server is down. PRs are always welcome

after trying terminator i tried kitty and i stayed with it.
