Can I use this add-on as a stand alone script?

Your question

It is mentioned in the readme file that it used to be a stand alone script. Can I use it as such with this release? The issue is that I could not get it to run in anki, It seems that there are some fundamental issues that are still not fixed and I am not able to build the add-on since I am using windows.
