Word just typed "disappears"

Description

I'm entering some text and suddenly the word I've just typed "disappears" but the space it takes up odd still there.

It goes from:

• something like| this.

To:

• something [like]| this.

Where [like] is the same colour as the background.

I can press backspace to get the correct text to appear.

We can see it's still there but the colour of the background

Backspace gets it to reappear (missing the final character which we'll have to re-type)
