Emoji line height
Description
If you put an emoji, it increases the line height for that line, even if the line spacing in settings is set to be very big
To Reproduce
- Go to settings > editor > line spacing, and set the line spacing to however big or small you want
- Make a few lines of text. Could be a list, a multi-line paragraph, or just multiple lines separated by newline characters
- Put an emoji in one of the middle lines
- Line space increases for just that line

Perhaps it's on some special font? I can't find it in the default settings.
For me, it's happening on every font I try, at any size & any line height. This is default behavior, but some apps have overridden the default, like Apple Notes and Sublime Text, but not Pages or TextEdit. You can repro this "issue" in Pages and TextEdit
Emojis are taller than text characters. If we could reduce or limit the relative emoji height to match text characters, I think it would make for a better writing experience
