emoji and auto rename by title

Open jakemkc opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Describe your feature request In the preferences, I turned on file renaming as "auto rename by title"

If I have an emoji in first line of the file, the file's name is also shown with emoji in the note list (i.e., the middle pane), which is the intended behavior.

However, if I go to Finder and locate the corresponding file, emoji is not showed in the file name but omitted.

I wonder is it possible to make the emoji also showed in the file names in Finder?

The request might be related to this question: https://github.com/glushchenko/fsnotes/issues/1404

Thanks! Jake

With both "First line as title" and "Auto Rename By Title" I can reproduce this with 6.0.4 on macOS 12.6.1.

I found note.title.withoutSpecialCharacters.trunc(length: 64) in the code, which I assume is the culprit. Off the top of my head I don't see why this needs to be there.
