avatar images not retrieved

If user contacts have avatars, these should be rendered by the app. Currently, all avatars in the contact list are null

I see avatars, can you point to an example?

I don't see any (yours for instance). I even tried to debug it building libsignal-service-java (DeviceContactsInputStream), but to no avail.
