bck2brwsr vs TeaVM

Just curious why bck2brwsr was selected for Gluon Web, instead of TeaVM or other alternatives? Is there a plan to make bck2brwsr up-to-date or revive the project?

We had great support from the creator of bck2brwsr, and that helps projects like these. As for making projects up to date: that is always a great idea, but it depends on how much interest and help there is :)

I know it's not much help, but I really would love to see this fly one day. Getting rid of all the JavaScript pain :-)
