Subtitles should be processed and at least some data presented to the end user. Apple has an example m3u8 with subtitles at https://devimages.apple.com.edgekey.net/resources/http-streaming/examples/bipbop_16x9/bipbop_16x9_variant.m3u8

It looks like Apple's example .m3u8 was missing.

It seems to be the same playlist of the one hosted here. @kormoc, first of all let me apologize for so long to answer this issue. Are you still interested on this feature?

Hey folks,

Sorry for letting this drop. As I'm sure you can guess, I've moved on to other stuff and I personally have no more need for this. That said, I would love to see it added so in the future other folks will have the support they need.
