Add unit test coverage specific to VIP

Is your enhancement related to a problem? Please describe.

Add unit tests on VIP to help catch future regressions, specifically related to WP_Query, get_posts, as well as tests on a post page and a category archive page. Open to having this run as Cypress e2e tests if that's more reasonable, though HOW exactly we mimic the VIP environment may be a little difficult to resolve.
