WS2801

I see in some posts that folks are using the WS2801 for this project and seem to get it working. How do you do that? I have a 5 meter WS2801 laying around and would love to use it for the next projext. But how exactly would I go about it? The pin out is not the same and I quess I have to add support in some way for it on a software level.

A step by step guide would be loveley... Especially regarding hardware installation..
