Hi. Was someone able to install drivers for this device? I have also got this one which seems one of the three chips present in easycap, Since it is a lottery, on which chip your easycap will be besed, it would be nice if we could add support for all three.

Hi,

I got that grabber at first. I couldn't get it to work.

I ordered this one instead from eBay because the seller states what chipset it has. And it works perfect. http://www.ebay.com/itm/231024402457?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

What do you think about this one? It looks like stk1160 based. http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB2-0-EasyCap-4-Channel-CH-Video-Audio-Capture-Adapter-Card-CCTV-DVR-XP-Win7/221296062507?rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D261%26meid%3D1876428564015872200%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1088%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D271267137024%26

You can always try. I ordered 4 different types of grabbers before I got the right one. Actually one of those you posted (4 composite inputs) and I got the wrong chipset in it. Email the seller and ask, some of them are nice and doesn't want to rip you of.

I tried for three weeks without success to get the Easy CAP DC60 clone to work -- it appears to be the most commonly available in the US and from Amazon. The issue is really not with Ambi-tv -- its the lack of a working linux driver for this chipset.

The Logilink mentioned by mnorthfield above works right out of the box.

I just bought the one from ebay. It works with NTSC right?

No

Crap :( Well if I can't cancel the transaction at the last minutes. I'll have one in the US if anyone is interested :/

Why cant't you run PAL?

Can I? I'm in the US so my signal will be NTSC. If there is a solution I'm all for it :)

Hackmodford avatar Oct 28 '13 19:10 Hackmodford

Crap, just remembered that US cable is a bit strange. ;)

Are you sure it doesn't do NTSC? The description say

  • Chipset: UTV007
  • Input PAL: 720 x 576 @ 25fps
  • Input of NTSC: 720 x 480 @ 30fps

If you switch your HDMI2AV box that is connected to the USB-grabber to NTSC the leds will just freeze.

Leaving the HDMI2AV box at PAL, I switched my OpenELEC(xbmc) setup to 30fps and it did still output signal to the leds. Checked the receiver and is said that it did output 1080p/60i to my frame.

I hope this makes any sense at all.

But you had a pal video source correct? If so, it makes sense that setting the hdmi2av adapter to ntsc would not work. In my case I will get the opposite result I think.

Hackmodford avatar Oct 28 '13 20:10 Hackmodford

Isn't 1080p/60i NTSC? Well, you will just find out when you get your video-grabber. :)

mnorthfield avatar Oct 28 '13 20:10 mnorthfield

Nope :) it still matters. http://hometheater.about.com/od/televisionbasics/qt/ntscpalframes.htm While they both have the same resolution now PAL = 25 fps and NTSC = 30 fps.

There is any chance to got it working?
