Produces more visually accurate gradients than LAB. Would be so nice to see this in chroma.js

As this ticket is quite old, I assume there isn't enough interest/appetite for adding CIECAM02. What are the major hurdles for doing so? The kb price tag of d3 is quite high for that feature alone.
