Not at all apparent how to unhide hidden branches

Open bcolloran opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Description

I've hidden a couple branches, and I can't find anywhere in the UI anything that allows me to unhide them. I would expect some option to become available in some context menu or something.

This issue https://github.com/gitkraken/vscode-gitlens/issues/2925 mentions a clickin on Hidden Branches / Tags, but I don't see that anywhere. I've clicked (right and left) on everything I can see... if this Hidden Branches / Tags exists somewhere, it seem to be buried. I've checked the command palette, but "hidden" turns up no results. I've even done string search in my settings.json (all of them...) and can't find the name of the hidden branch, so I can't delete it from the list.

I have no idea how to unhide this branch. Please halp!

You can unhide using the eye icon at the right end of the BRANCH / TAG column header at the top of the graph, assuming that's what you mean.

But to your point, this is not at all obvious and should probably be improved. So I'm going to leave this issue open for now as a reminder to improve it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Ok thanks I'm an idiot.

For whatever it's worth: I think what was happening is that the icon there looks like part of the "GRAPH" header, and so my eye skipped over it as an independent click target. And I'd tried left clicking + right clicking all over the header, so I probably convinced myself that nothing in that bar other than the gear icon on the far left does anything.

Hi, I also faced this same issue, I wasn't able to find the UI to unhide the hidden branch until I found this issue, so I'm upvoting to have this improvement. Thank you!

Suggestion: maybe add a sub-menu in the filter options menu, it already has show and hide options.
